MAKE DISABLED PEOPLE LIVES EASIER
This group was started about April 2008, a few disabled people, carers and Millom Town Councillors got together and decided that a group was needed to act as a consultative body on disabled issues, the SOUTH COPELAND DISABILITY GROUP was created..( S.C.D.G.).
We meet every second MONDAY in the month (except JANUARY) in UNIT 3 DEVONSHIRE ROAD INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, DEVONSHIRE ROAD MILLOM, CUMBRIA LA18 4JP, 10-30 AM Refreshments are provided Tea/Coffee & Biscuits.

WHAT WE DO
We make sure that the disabled in South Copeland have a voice, and someone to speak and get them their rights, and make their lives easier and more bearable. Access into shops and buildings, dropped kerbs, accessible toilets, parking bays, facilities for disabled children to play in the park, get funding to provide wheelchairs in the doctors surgeries, public buildings, facilities for special needs persons/children, walk in showers, wet-rooms, stair lifts, handrails, hospital beds, just to mention a few, we also are a third party HATE CRIME reporting agency, help fill in P.I.P forms, represent you at tribunals, we have some members who can give you help on the requirements needed when building accessible toilets, ramps, they attended a special two day course in MILLOM NETWORK CENTRE a few years ago, and we have the tools to do the job, we do not charge, but will take a donation if offered..
